Why Weblogs Are Good

There are many reasons why weblogs are, on the whole, A Good Thing, but the main reason to keep one is comments like this one. I don’t know about you, but I still find it really amazing that you can say something, and a couple of months later someone from God knows where pops up and responds, in this case at some length. The internet, eh? Magic.

And it’s getting more magical, too: I can’t wait for the day when all these helpful little technologies like Trackback 1 are all growed up and that comment linked to above leads off to a dizzying spiral of information nodes and opinion clumps all over the world.

  1. Jesus, spammers just get more and more devious. I’m not sure whether to be pissed off or to be pleased that whoever this bizarre bit of advertising originated from think that the ol’ Submit Response is important enough to merit the effort of posting this.

  2. Deleted. I’ve had to ban about 10 IPs in the past month. There must be something about MT that makes comment spamming easy to do.
