I nearly fell out of my chair reading this Rolling Stone report.
Sheila E. is organising a benefit concert this December, featuring an all star line-up of Prince’s band members.
And not obscure bongo-players from the New Power Generation either: Wendy & Lisa with Matt Fink, Bobby Z. and Eric Leeds. Jerome Benton has signed up too. As has Susannah Melvoin.
For those who don’t hold an exhaustive database of Prince information in their heads, that’s the Revolution and The Family all on stage at once, plus Shiela E. herself. Or, to put it another way, everyone who made a significant contribution to Prince’s ouevre from Dirty Mind through to Sign o’ the Times.
The little man himself isn’t on the bill, and given that he doesn’t exactly have a history of parting company with bandmates on good terms, I suspect he won’t show.
But if he does, this will be the best concert ever. Seriously, I mean ever.I want a ticket. A lot.
right, shall we go?

Tickets to LA: £400. 3 nights in a shit hotel: £150. Tickets for gig: about £100?
Even I’m not about to blow nigh on a grand for this!

it’s kinda like when you fall in love with a movie and then the sequel
comes and they change the ORIGINAL
cast you kinda shoot it down before you watch it.
after parade i stop buying his music.
prince is hands down the best in music
but he’s not listening 2 his fans and
we are fuckin pissed!!
WE WANT!! prince ,lisa,wendy,fink,doctor,mark, atlanta bliss, jerome, sheila e,THE FAMILY,the time,we want that magic back!!!
he needs 2 swallow his pride and ego
and get back with the best.
