That Detroit Sound

My cousin Dave has his dissertation online: That Detroit Sound: Examining the Sound and History of Detroit Techno. It does what it says on the tin, tracing the history of Detroit techno, charting the influence of the genre and providing good potted biographies of significant artists. And it’s all copiously illustrated with MP3s.

nice dissertation. being the total pedant that i am, i do have to point out that he did manage to get a few facts wrong but i’ll give him an A-

I spotted a couple too (sorry Dave!) but having googled the ass off Detroit techno in the past, I reckon this is one of the better guides out there…

Glad you all enjoyed it. Would have been pretty empty without mp3s but Glasgow University were strangely supportive of the blatant piracy at the heart of my project.
