Supporting Our Troops

What’s with all the turncoats?

Poll after poll shows support for war on the increase, because support for ‘our’ brave boys in the Gulf kicks in the minute bombs start raining down on Iraq.

I just don’t get it. Obviously, I don’t want anyone to die because of this oil-grab, but the argument that the war is illegal, morally reprehensible and liable to have disastrous consequences for the Middle East and the world at large is not negated by the fact that some people who happen to come from the same country as me might get killed. If anything, the onset of war bolsters arguments against war: support your soldiers by demanding their immediate withdrawal.

  1. like Mr Sheridan says of the British troops: Of course we support you, that’s why we want you to come home!

  2. The British, Australian & US troops are doing a difficult & dangerous job. In disarming one of the most evil & bloodstained Dictators in the world today, they are doing a great job. More power to the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army & the RAF.
Most people in Britain support you 100%.
Keep safe & go on to victory boys.
