Power Tab Browsing

Over at Boing​bo​ing.net, Cory Doc­torow is musing on the pos­si­bil­i­ties of an RSS aggre­ga­tor or sim­i­lar that out­putted Moz tab-​bookmark files.

As a proof of con­cept he cre­ated a book­mark file that loads all of the sto­ries in the latest issue of The Onion into indi­vid­ual tabs. I had no idea this could be done, but since it can, here’s my new book­mark fea­tur­ing a selec­tion of weblogs i read regularly.

To use it, ctrl-​click (mac) or right-​click (pc) and choose Save Target As. Save the file, then select Bookmarks:Manage Book­marks, then when the Book­marks window is open, select Tools:Import and choose the file you just down­loaded. You’ll find you have a new book­marked called “tabbed brows­ing fun,” select it as you would any book­mark from the drop-​down list, and all the sites I’ve chosen will load up in indi­vid­ual tabs.
