404 Not Found

I’ve always been fond of 404 errors. At present my favourite has to be the 404 found at Marxists.org, proving that the comrades have a sense of humour after all.

My own is rather basic, I must admit, but it does the job. (Or rather did the job on the one occasion it has been viewed thus far.)

I’m not alone, either: the good people over at 404lab share my fondness for this little nugget of ephemera, and even provide a gallery of choice 404 pages (which kind of negates the pleasure of stumbling on a particularly fine example while rooting around the web…)
