Skip the light fandango

“we skipped the light fandango, turned cartwheels ‘cross the floor. i was feeling kinda seasick, but the crowd called out for more…misheard lyrics!”

it’s the first verse of Procul Harum’s ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale.’ gorgeous song, stupid lyrics. sorry, mystical lyrics. bloody hippies.

  1. Jack,

You need to read the lyrics carefully to find the hidden meaning behind the words. Unlike the miller’s tale, this story is subtle.

  2. It appears to be straight forward even in todays lingo. we skip the light fandango seem alot like we skip the glittering ballroom or maybe disco lights.disco? Then turned cartwheel across the floor reminds me of when I was 17 and now at 40 something like instead of getting the courage to dance with some young intimitiating young chick I instead dragg my feet aacvross the floor. Iwa feeling kinda of seasick could be the excuse ormaybe he was emotionally not up to the challenge.the croud call out for more.could be as musicians oncores or his friends erkinging him to -come on ask the bitch to dance—Frank 2008
