Time For Sub Sessions
It’s that time of the month again. Sub Sessions, a night devoted to live electronic music at the Sub Club, is on Wednesday, 8th September, from 9pm to 1am. The cover charge is whatever you fancy - it’s a donationware nightclub!
This month, alongside disc jockey residents Richard Stuff and myself (Möt is my current silly pseudonym), there are three live acts:
- Nightmare Jazz Café
Donna sings beautifully, Chris takes care of the crunch-glitch-squelch. The result: classic disco made with ultramodern noises, with jazz vocals. (Without wishing to be rude, I think they need to change their name from Nightmare Jazz Café to… well, pretty much anything else!)
- The BPL
This is The BPL’s debut live performance, so I haven’t a clue what they sound like. It says they make ‘quirky bleepy squeaky electronica’ on the press release. Jolly good.
- Izu
Izu music is ‘pink, slimy and stupid’ according to their label. Download this live set to see if they’re right.
So, three live acts for slightly more than free, all nice and early, since it’s on a school night. In between, Richard will doubtless be doing his screwed-up R&B-tronica thing, while I’ll mostly be playing grime and dancehall stuff (because the Sub’s soundsystem is so bloody good, I can’t resist making full use of the belly-quaking bass).
Hope to see you there.
Thank you! Name was a random vision of ours. Can we have a poll?

change the name to crunch-glitch-squelch
i like saying that - reminds me of a set of etchings i aptly named slit-cut-slash-gash - in fact that will be my band name if i am ever in a band!
