Grauniad Charge for Digests

I some­how missed the news that The Guardian are intro­duc­ing charges for var­i­ous sec­tions of their site. Sto­ries, new and archived, will remain free, but charges are in for email digests. I guess I’ll be taking them up on the intro­duc­tory 20% dis­count, since life with­out the Media Breif­ing and The Back­bencher would be, if not intol­er­a­ble, at least a drag.

For­tu­nately, this shouldn’t be the tip of an ice­berg of charg­ing, since the paper is owned by the Scott Trust, and as such isn’t purely profit-​driven.
