Gaby Rado Has Died

Channel 4 News reporter Gaby Rado has died, after falling from the roof of his hotel.

He’d just been reporting on the movements of Kurdish troops at the Iraqi border, which sounds like exactly the sort of thing he was famous for: highlighting the stories that others left unreported.

  2. very tragic and all, but you’ve got to admit that’s fairly lame. go all the way to a warzone and then… fall off a roof.

  4. bit late, but he was apparently on anti-depressants. baghdad maybe not a good place to be if at a loss with the world even before the war. so did he jump?

  5. I wondered that too. It seems unlikely, and a shame, that someone used to dodging bombs and bullets should meet their end by falling over…

  6. did he fall or was he pushed? independent journalists can uncover truths those in power would rather remain hidden! its just a question, but remember the first casualty of war is truth!

  7. I admired Gaby Rado’s reports, and found him an attractive journalist to watch and listen to. It’s strange that he should be born into an uprising (the Hungarian one) and die in another.

Poor Gaby. I’m sorry. I’ll miss him. My sympathies to his family.
