What’s a Soksok?

Well, this is spooky. Ben Hammersly reports that a Japanese site is hosting live mirrors of various weblogs, including his own, with all the metadata stripped out and some links rewritten to point to porn.

And what do you know, Submit Response is available for viewing in it’s entirety at http://pack.soksok.jp/y/.clp8/mt/.

I don’t quite understand why anyone would do this, unless it’s a rather peculiar method of tweaking Google in the soksok.jp domain’s favour, but I’m not exactly comfortable with our witterings being used to drive traffic toward Japanese porno websites.

It looks like the soksok site is a gateway for users of fancy-ass mobile phones that happens to carry porn advertising. How disapointing - I was hoping for some vast conspiracy I could tie in with the post below!
