Whinge

Okay, so it’s free, so I can’t really com­plain, but Port­land have been taking the piss of late. I’m not sure if this is due to their recent data­base restruc­tur­ing, or if their ser­vice is just down­right patchy. Take today: seem­ingly at random, the FTP server is either shut down or fails to recog­nise my pass­word. Non­sen­si­cally, Blog­ger has no prob­lem pub­lish­ing via FTP, yet Kung Tunes returns error mes­sages on each attempted upload. This fol­lows hard on the heels of more than a week of being shut out due to data­base main­te­nance, and prob­lems crop­ping up with FTP access pretty much with­out fail every time I attempt to adjust or update the page.

Nor­mally, I would just get the hell out, but given the good reports I’ve heard about Port­land in the past and the com­par­a­tively rare full CGI access offered with the free account, I think I’ll weather the storm for a while.
