Whinge

Okay, so it’s free, so I can’t really complain, but Portland have been taking the piss of late. I’m not sure if this is due to their recent database restructuring, or if their service is just downright patchy. Take today: seemingly at random, the FTP server is either shut down or fails to recognise my password. Nonsensically, Blogger has no problem publishing via FTP, yet Kung Tunes returns error messages on each attempted upload. This follows hard on the heels of more than a week of being shut out due to database maintenance, and problems cropping up with FTP access pretty much without fail every time I attempt to adjust or update the page.

Normally, I would just get the hell out, but given the good reports I’ve heard about Portland in the past and the comparatively rare full CGI access offered with the free account, I think I’ll weather the storm for a while.
