Today’s Links (18/10/05)
- Flock
Brilliant concept, but the new ‘social browser’ is completely unusable (on my G3 ibook running 10.4.2): spinning beachball for at least a minute if you try to do anything at all, had to force quit it repeatedly. Still, from what I could glean of the features between crashes, I’d probably end up using a future stable version a lot.

- Weblog Usability: The Top Ten Design Mistakes (Jakob Nielsen’s Alertbox)
Pretty much spot on.
- ShoZu
“ShoZu makes saving images from your camera-phone to your Flickr album simple. Download the free ShoZu application to try it out.” They want too much information for my liking during sign up, so I’ve not tried it (and you can already do this via email on most ‘phones anyway).
- Paul Vigay’s Collective Nouns Database - Contents
- WFMU’s Beware of the Blog: I’m A Genius, Too! The Murry Wilson Tapes
Wilson Snr. drunkenly interrupts Beach Boys recording session, is generally quite nuts.
- slightly lost in the world: All about Christian Voice
“Following ongoing posts about this group by Zefrog, Silencing Stephen Green Is his most recent entry. I’ve decided to add my own contribution to this by starting a summary of links that detail this group.”
- Salon.com Life | Just like a woman
“Sidore is a homebody, but then, she couldn’t leave the comfort of the bed she shares with Davecat even if she wanted to because Sidore is a 100-pound solid silicone Real Doll”
- Technology - BitTorrent: The Great DisrupterA profile of Bram Cohen, with what’s in store for Bittorrent (plenty of investment, no clear way of making profits).

Sorry you’re put off by the info collected at ShoZu registration. It’s basically just the info we need to send you the application and link your phone to your Flickr photostream. ShoZu is easier and cheaper than email, so people tend to like it a lot if they upload photos frequently.
