Today’s Links (13/09/04)
Hideous ring tones - not worth buying, but you can just use the previews if you have a modern telephone.
- Nokia 7260, 7270, 7280
What drugs are Nokia’s product design team on, and where can I get some?
- Philosophical Break-ups
A collection of break-up lines, by philosophical bent. Some absolute gems. (via Rob)
- A Nice Tip From Forwarding Address
Open up Address Book and start editing someone’s card. Select the Birthdate field and type "today" then hit Return. Next try ‘tomorrow’,’next week’, ‘last month’, ‘next tuesday’.
- Free City
I wish I’d known my pal Nicky was blogging her summer in Paris when she was actually in Paris and it was still summer.
- Gallina
A weblogging app that uses GMail messages as ‘entries’ (the message star is the publish status). Replies to conversations are the ‘entry comments’
- Whitespace: Homepage Analysis
Notes on a good clean index page.
- sylloge
Flickr developer on his weblog: …our promise to paying customers will be that their photos and all metadata are safe… that means… the ability to export everything. Jolly good.
- Lifeblog will blog to TypePad
Actually, it sounds like Lifeblog will support ATOM, which isn’t exactly the same thing. (Moot for me for now - there’s no Mac version of Lifeblog - and Windows types are presumably already using Lifeblogger to post via the MetaWeblog API)
- Bass-Station
A boom box with a Wifi-enabled PC in it, designed to encourage localised collaborative information exchange. And playing tunes.
- ActiveBelt
A GPS belt that buzzes on your body to give directions. I get lost a lot and take ludicrous circuitous routes via landmarks, so could be doing with one of these.
- Project Old-School Bluetooth
Now your Bluetooth headset can sport that 20th century look!
- Shop the States
They provide a US mailing address and forward stuff you buy from sites that only deliver inside the US. Handy for eBay.
