Jack & Chloe? Blame Richard & Judy
ext|circ points to National Statistics Online, which carries the news that, yet again, Jack and Chloe are the top names for new babies.
What no one ever points out, presumably because the sort of journalists who write this stuff up don’t spend a lot of time watching daytime telly, is the fact that Richard & Judy have two kids called Jack & Chloe who they witter on about indulgently at every available opportunity. With no proof whatsoever, I am confident in asserting that this must be behind the continuing popularity of the two names.
That and the fact that Jack is, like, a totally cool name to have.
There’s loads of dogs called Jack, and my sister has a cat called Chloe… What does that mean, I wonder?
