Justified Text With CSS
the other day in the pub:
jack: you can’t justify text using html or css, it’s just not do-able.
leon: as soon as i get home, i’ll prove you wrong!
he didn’t prove it, but i was almost wrong (sorry, this is just the sort of conversation we have!). it is possible to justify text, or rather to justify text without hyphenation. and that’s the important bit - without hyphenation, justifying text is pretty much pointless, because you end up with bizarre spacing, hence all the left-aligned text you see on the interweb…
anyway, here’s a paragraph of justified text:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod tincidunt ut laoreet dolore magna aliquam erat volutpat. Ut wisi enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exerci tation ullamcorper suscipit lobortis nisl ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis autem vel eum iriure
