More Blame Culture

hmmm. so this is the fourth attempt to actually post something, let’s hope my overworked little machine doesn’t crash before i get there. again.

re: blame culture…i think the problem i have with the term is that it’s applied in a whole caboodle of contexts [if one can, indeed, have such a thing as a ‘caboodle’ of contexts] to mean whatever the speaker wants it to. it’s not that it’s an invalid concept per se, but it tends to get thrown about with merry abandon, and i’m always suspicious of that.

still, whatever you want to call it, blame culture has been in existence since time immemorial, because it’s always easier to say “him! it was him! kill ‘im with sharp things!” than it is to, y’know, accept any form of collective responsibility for anything.

oh, and jack: the sitemeter tracker down the bottom has gone a bit wonky…not sure why, shall leave it to yr technical brain to determine the cause
