They fought a war of independence and won, and they still don’t have a monarch. Britain is unusual in that it’s the only country in history to have had its revolution overseas.

The problem with that bloody woman’s oath is that it isn’t to the people; it’s to the People. Beware politicians who capitalise the word “people”.
