After a supposed installtion the ‘new port’ detected does’nt appear and the modem USB light just flashes slowly red.
My ISP suggested visiting thSpeedtouch site to download updated drivers but I’ve tried this to no avail
Anyone have any thoughts?

]]>I’m having the same problems as David with my Speedtouch 330 USB modem. At startup the modem only works sometimes. When I restart the Mac 3 or 4 times it usually works after that. The latest drivers are installed and Jaguar is updated. My provider doesn’t know how to handle this problem so I’m stuck with this. I also tried to connect the modem to an old G3 on OSX 10.2.6. but it has the same problem. If anyone knows what to do about this please mail me: ronaldvdmeer@planet.nl
]]>Q3: In Mac OS X, I must reselect the Alcatel SpeedTouch USB modem after every reboot. What can I do about it?
In the Apple Menu, go to system preferences and click on ‘Network’. In the ‘Show’ field, select “active network ports”. You should see all the network interfaces installed on your computer. To solve the issue, either drag the “Alcatel SpeedTouch USB” line to the first place, or uncheck all the other interfaces.
Also, are you rebooting with the modem plugged in? That’s caused all kinds of problems for me - unplug, restart, plug back in seems to be the way to go…
]]>I have just got an Alcatel speedtouch 330 USB DSL modem and I am running it under Jaguar 10.2.4. I got it today and I had to get the 2.1 driver from Alcatel’s website so that it would work. Every time I restart or shutdown my computer the network setting change so that I cannot select the speedtouch at all. I have to unistall the drivers and re-install them again to work. I upgraded to osx 10.2.6 this afternoon and it is still doing it. Can you help me? Is there a driver for 10.2.6?
David.
